THE TREATMENT

sometimes it really
is all in your
head

This massage tackles the places where most people silently carry their stress (without even realizing it). The Mellow Melon Head & Neck is a focused, detail-oriented treatment. As a licensed massage therapist and owner, I work the face, scalp, neck, and shoulders with a blend of therapeutic massage and deep tissue work.

Whether you're dealing with chronic tension headaches, sinus congestion, a stiff neck from long hours at a screen, or jaw tightness that creeps into your temples — this session is designed specifically for that. Slow, intentional, and deeply clearing. You'll leave feeling lighter from the shoulders up.

YOUR FIRST VISIT

01

BOOK ONLINE

Choose your session length — 30, 45, or 60 minutes — and book directly online. The 45-minute session is the most popular for first-timers; long enough to do thorough work through the face, scalp, neck, and shoulders.

02

TELL ME WHAT’S GOING ON

Tension headaches, sinus pressure, a stiff neck — or all three. I’ll check in before you get on the table so the session targets exactly what's bothering you. Nothing is assumed, nothing is wasted.

READY WHEN YOU ARE

it’s not just for
headaches

goodbye, tension

questions
answered

  • It can, significantly. Research shows that targeted massage of the head, neck, and shoulders can reduce both the frequency and severity of tension headaches. A lot of headache pain originates in the suboccipital muscles at the base of the skull, the trapezius, and the sternocleidomastoid — muscles that tighten from stress, posture, or screen time. Working those areas directly can interrupt the pain pattern. It's not a one-and-done fix, but consistent bodywork makes a real difference for chronic tension headache sufferers.

  • Yes — facial massage and lymphatic drainage techniques can help move fluid buildup around the sinuses and ease that heavy, congested pressure. This session uses both therapeutic and lymphatic drainage work on the face, which is why clients dealing with sinus issues find it particularly relieving. It won't treat an infection, but it can absolutely help with the pressure.

  • At Mellow & Mend, the Head & Neck treatment covers the face, jaw, scalp, neck, and shoulders — using a mix of therapeutic massage and lymphatic drainage techniques. It's intentional, detailed work through all the tissue that connects your shoulders to the crown of your head.

  • For chronic tension headaches, every 3 to 6 weeks tends to work well for most clients. Massage works best as consistent care — not a one-time emergency visit. Kristen can help you figure out a session frequency that fits both your body and your schedule.
